With overseas travel looking unlikely for some time, we're daydreaming about these beautiful places to escape to in our own backyard once the borders are open again.
1. Raes on Wategos

2. Slow Beam
If you're a lover of dark and moody interiors, good food, wine and art, you need to add Slow Beam to your wishlist. Nestled into the West Hobart hills in Tasmania, this architecturally designed house has been created specifically for a unique Hobart getaway.
The owner and creator of this beautiful space, Lauren Bamford was inspired by 1960's Italian Gio Ponti style, and wanted to get that mid-century mod touch into the house. For her guests she says, "I want them to relax, appreciate the design mixing with the natural setting, but most importantly - to feel spoilt".

3. The Bower Byron Bay
The Bower has options for all types of escapes to Byron Bay. Whether you're after an adults-only getaway or a family trip, The Bower caters to groups from 2-10 guests.
Owner Taliah Lowry says guests can expect the same things you have in your very own home that make it feel cozy and luxurious - Beautiful linen sheets, plenty of cushions, a comfortable bed, bedside books, robes, extra blankets, quality tea and coffee, and the best of the best when it comes to things like shampoo and conditioner, body and hand soap and lotions.

4. My Sister & The Sea
My Sister & The Sea is a dreamy 1950's weatherboard cottage transported from Sweden, located in the township of Marion Bay on the Yorke Peninsula. Created by sisters Sarah and Emma, with the desire to allow their guests to escape to another time and place.
If your ideal Summer is spent with sandy feet, long meals, naps on daybeds, swimming, fishing, exploring and jigsaw puzzles and you dream of Winters spent by the fire reading, drinking wine and sleeping in, you need to book your trip to South Australia as soon as you can!

5. Dunmore Farm
Dunmore Farm is a 1800s cottage renovated and restored by owners Angus and Bec. You’ll find restored bookshelves, an Antique French Chandelier and original Victoria clawfoot bath all set in a region known for its wine and cheese.
Enjoy riding your bike down the hidden trails, pick your own apples and sample the produce of the area before tucking into bed at this chic countryside cottage.
